Acceptable Use Policy

Effective 31 October 2026 · Shotink
This Acceptable Use Policy explains what you may and may not do with Shotink. It forms part of, and should be read together with, the Terms & Conditions, the Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy. If this Policy conflicts with the Terms on acceptable use, this Policy controls.

1Scope and acceptance

This Policy applies to every person who accesses or uses Shotink, including Account Holders, team members and anyone who uploads, generates, edits, downloads or shares content through the Service. By creating an account or using the Service, you accept this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

This Policy applies to Your Content, to the prompts and instructions you give the studio, to Generated Output, and to the way you use any part of the Service.

2What Shotink is

Shotink is an independent studio for turning comics and manga into animated films. It is not a general-purpose image, video or deepfake generator. It runs third-party and self-hosted machine-learning models. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by the publishers of those models.

You do not operate the models directly. You direct the studio, and its assistant and planning steps build the instructions that reach a model. That does not make the result someone else's responsibility: you remain responsible for the content you ask the studio to make and for what you do with it.

3Prohibited content and conduct

You must not use Shotink to create, upload, request, generate, distribute or promote any of the following:

  • sexually explicit, adult or NSFW content of any kind, including pornographic, erotic or sexually suggestive text, images, animation or video;
  • child sexual abuse material, sexual content involving a minor, or any content that sexualises a person under 18;
  • non-consensual intimate imagery, or a sexual or defamatory depiction of a real person without their consent;
  • a deepfake, face swap or similar synthetic media that impersonates or realistically depicts a real person, or that is made to deceive about who made, said or did something;
  • the likeness, voice or identity of a real person without their express consent, including a cloned or synthesised voice, a recording used as a cloning reference, an AI-generated portrait, or a performance attributed to them;
  • hate speech, harassment, threats, bullying, or content that incites violence or discrimination against a person or group;
  • content that violates the law, including fraud, extortion, malware, phishing, or content that infringes copyright, trademark, privacy or publicity rights;
  • a comic, image, recording, script or other work that you do not own or have permission to adapt, upload or process, including copyrighted pages, characters, artwork, music, film or television footage;
  • trademarks, logos or brand identities in a way that falsely suggests endorsement, affiliation or sponsorship;
  • content designed to circumvent moderation, metering, access controls or the security of the Service, or to obtain Credits or processing time you have not paid for.

These prohibitions apply to the prompts and instructions you give the studio, to reference images and other inputs, to Generated Output, and to anything you publish or share from the Service.

This list is not exhaustive. If a use would be unlawful, harmful to a person, or contrary to the spirit of these rules, do not use Shotink for it.

4Your rights and consents

You must hold all rights, permissions and consents needed to upload Your Content and to ask the studio to process it. That includes consent from any real person whose face, voice, name or likeness appears, and from the owner of any comic, image, recording or other work you did not create.

You must review Generated Output before you publish or rely on it. Generative models can produce inaccurate, incomplete or similar output for different users, and can produce a result that resembles a real person or an existing work. You are responsible for checking it.

5Moderation and enforcement

We may screen prompts, uploads and other inputs, and we may review content and activity, to enforce this Policy and the Terms. We do not promise to pre-screen everything, and a failure to catch something is not permission to do it.

If we believe this Policy has been broken, we may remove content, refuse a request, suspend or terminate access, cancel or withhold Credits, report the matter to the relevant authorities, or take any other action we consider appropriate. We may act immediately where a person is at risk or the law requires it.

You must not try to get around a moderation decision by rephrasing a prompt, splitting it across requests, using another account, or any other means.

6Reporting a violation

If you believe content made with Shotink violates this Policy or the rights of a person, report it through the Service or email support@shotink.com, and include enough detail for us to find it, such as the project, the page or the output, and the reason for the report. We will review valid reports and take action where appropriate.

Do not use the reporting channel to make a knowingly false or abusive claim.

7Changes

We may update this Policy from time to time. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify you, for example by posting the updated version with a new effective date. Continued use of the Service after the change takes effect is acceptance of the updated Policy.

8Contact

Questions about this Policy may be raised through the Service or by email at support@shotink.com.
