Repair the panels, paint them in an anime style, and make them the right shape for video. Four steps. The order matters more here than anywhere else.

Plan Art a few credits

Looks at every panel and writes notes: what is in it, who is in it, how it is framed, its light and colour, and what needs to be repaired.

It also says if the panel is a real picture at all. A thin border, an empty strip, or a sound effect on a blank background is marked as not usable, and every later step skips it. If that is wrong, open the panel's notes. The reason is there, with one click to bring the panel back.

This step plans the pictures, not the movement. Camera moves and shot lengths are decided later, in Video, where the studio can see all the pictures together.

Clean Up Panels by the minute

Paints artwork into the empty holes the speech bubbles left, and into anything you erased yourself. It works on one hole at a time, so what belongs in one hole cannot end up in another.

Run this before Apply Anime Style. The style step paints the whole panel again and closes the holes. After that there is nothing left for this step to repair.

If a hole looks wrong: open the panel and use Gen Fill to redraw that part, or Clone to copy good artwork from next to it.

Apply Anime Style by the minute

This is the step that makes your comic look like an anime. It paints every panel again in the style you pick. It also removes what Clean Up could not: a panel border, a sound effect drawn into the picture, a bubble that was missed.

Pick one style and keep it. Do not change the style between panels. A panel with a different style from the panels around it makes the video animate that change, and it looks broken. Use Try a Style on one panel before you run the whole folder.

A style is how the picture is drawn: the lines, the shading, the colour fills, the texture. The light and mood of each single panel come from the Plan Art notes and stay separate. So a happy page still looks happy in a dark style. There are more than 70 styles — see Art styles.

Fit to Frame by the minute

Comic panels are tall, square, wide — all different. Video is one shape. This step adds new picture around the edges of each panel until it is the video shape.

It only adds. Your own picture is put back on top, so nothing inside it changes.

Run it last, on the styled panels. It copies the edges of the picture it is given, so a styled panel gets more anime, and a raw comic panel gets more comic page.

What you have at the end

The Fit to Frame folder: every usable panel, repaired, in one style, in the video shape, in reading order. That folder is what the Video stage reads. The notes from Plan Art travel with each picture.
