Generative Fill

Paint over the part of a panel that came out wrong, say what should happen there in plain words, and it redraws just that region. Two models, because they fail in opposite directions.

How to use it

  1. Open a plate from Clean Up Panels or Fit to Frame and pick Gen Fill on the rail.
  2. Paint the region to redraw. Be generous at the edges; the model needs context.
  3. Say what should be there — an instruction, not a caption: “give the hand five fingers”, “plain wall, no figure”.
  4. Run. The result replaces the plate in place; undo is one step back in the file's history.

Two models

Flux.2 Klein — the default
Runs as an instruction editor. It is shown the painted region with the mistake still in it, and your sentence is an instruction about what to change — so “the hand has six fingers, give it five” is a request it can hold, which an inpainter cannot. It is sent two images: the painted region alone as the frame it redraws, and a wider crop of the scene as a reference it only looks at.
Flux.1 Fill — the inpainter
Erases the region and paints what the prompt describes into the hole, matched to the surroundings. Better for pure repairs where nothing in the region should survive; worse at holding an instruction.

Pick the model in the panel's advanced section. The rule of thumb: change something — Klein; remove something and fill with background — try Klein first, then Fill, then Clone.

The failure to know about

Both models invent when asked to remove something over plain background: the inpainter paints a framed picture into a box-shaped hole, the instruction editor elaborates rather than removes. When that happens, Clone is the answer — copy the background from six inches to the left. No GPU, no prompt, and it cannot hallucinate.

Cost

A repair is one GPU job of one to five minutes on a warm card, so roughly 6–30 credits. The first repair after a pause includes the card's start-up; consecutive repairs share a warm card. See Plans & credits.
